If you only want to play at 1080p, which quite frankly is **** stupid for this budget, then you will need to spend nowhere near the set budget. Why not play at 4k? A 980 Ti is extremely overkill and pointless for 1080p. Would you maybe consider a 144Hz 1440p monitor?

So you want a 980ti with 1080p panel? That would be known as a waste to have unless you had 4K.

Thanks for your input and suggestions. The only reason I was saying I didint need 4K is because I was afraid one 980ti would not be enough to run the games I wanted to play at 4K while maintaining a solid 60fps. But if you think it can I'm fine with that. Also the reson I wanted the strafe rgb is it's cheaper and has mx silents. I took your build and changed a little bit around to match my color scheme and stuff do you think it's still a solid build?

K70>Strafe. 980Ti is retarded at 1080p, just go 1440p and you'll be dandy. 980Ti will slay at 1440p ezpz. PCPP is down rn so I can't make a parts list or whatever, but I can later, if need be. I also can't see what's been suggested, but I'd suggest going with a 6700k rig(unless you're doing a lot of multi-threaded tasks, then go X99) with maybe an R9 Nano/Fury, or a 980Ti and a nice 1440p panel. K70 RGB with MX Blues is definitely what I'd recommend, and an M45 for the mouse.

$3k is a pretty large budget, is it USD? What speakers/headphones/headset have you got right now? Personally, I'd grab a nice set of speakers as well, with the $3k, if I didn't already have something decent.
