how much are personalised number plates these days? I want one but I'm not spending a fortune!

Depends on what your plate says really, they cost from anywhere between 200-1000's of pounds. You then have to pay annually, or every couple of years to keep it on the car, which I think is about 80 pounds. This is for the UK only.

It depends on what vehicle it's going on, where you're located, etc. Just call up your local DMV and ask them.

It depends on the vehicle. If it isn't a classic or antique plated car it shouldn't be a whole lot. I'd follow 002's instructions as it typically varies per state. Or country.
