I once had a 2008 Nissan 350z, with 68k miles.. I sold it in July.. reason being, only 2 seats.. but I really regret it. & everyday I feel like I'm missing something. I had gotten really attached to the car. A 350z has heavy doors, & when my GF would get out she'd slam them ... so I'd get a bit angry & tell her to be careful next time.. but now I'm thinking wether or not to buy another 350z, it is also a 2008.. I sold mine for $14,100. the one I'm thinking about getting it $13,600, with only 46k miles..

350z I'm looking to get...

Aye, get a Mach 1! ;)

Seriousness, the car isn't bad. I like the 350z's

I would say get a Genesis but if you are still with that girl that wouldn't go over well. The 2010 Gene is the nicest imo and it has frameless windows so you can't close them too hard if they are closed.

I wouldn't get it. You already had this car, just with more miles and you know it didn't fit your life that good. It sounds like only 2 seats was an issue for you, and you didn't like heavy doors. I think most newer cars will have heavier doors, but maybe not as heavy as the 350z.

What is it about the 350z you like? I assume speed, handling, and looks. You get get fast vehicles that handle nice with a lot more space. Here is a couple vehicles in my area you could afford with decently low miles:

Porsche Cayenne:

You can also get a Porsche boxter for around 12k in my area, but again there is a lack of space.

I doubt he'd get any of those cars, especially going from a 350z. The cayenne is a total shit box, Hence why everyone sells them so cheap from the original price of 60k+, and they are one of the most less likely maintained vehicles, since it costs a arm and a leg to maintain.

The Bmw x5 too, they require a lot of maintenance, and if the last owner was a moron, the car itself is a money pit.(This is also coming from a 2009 bmw x5 4.8 owner)

The charger is just a "hey looks its another charger" car. And on top of that they can be bought for like 4k-9k l0l.

For 14k, get a BMW 335 coupe if you like speed, and comfort. They're the most underated cars, basically they can be made into incredibly fast cars for the price. On top of that, it's luxury, and the doors are very light.

Or get a Infinity G35/7, same goes for that car. The backseats, and comfort are very similar.14k can get you a pretty nice car, don't stick to what you already had, explore your options. Good luck!

It sounds like he needs more space in a car while (I assume) keeping a sporty look and feel which is why I brought those vehicles up. Why do you say the Cayenne is a shit box? I'm not saying it's not, but you just made a claim without backing any of it up. The reason they go for cheap is because they have a lot of miles on them (46k mile 350Z vs 110k mile Cayenne). I disagree with your idea on maintenance, most dealers (especially when spending that kind of money) will offer a 3 or 5 year service for brake jobs, oil changes, etc. If I spent that much on a vehicle, I Would keep it in tip top shape, but maybe some people have disposable money lol. If the last owner of ANY car was an idiot you will have problems with your car, it doesn't matter if it's a BMW X5, Honda Civic, or Lamborghini Gallardo.

Chargers are nice cars with a bit more space than a 350Z. Yes you can get one for 4-9k but it will have a lot of miles. Maybe it's due to us living in difference areas but in that price range they are 150k+ miles.

The two cars you listed and the 2 SUV's I listed rank about the same.

Nope its an automatic. If you're gonna get a Z, go for manual. Unless you live in heavy traffic areas, then idk why you would get a manual and a Z.

BTW I had a 2007 drove both a manual one and an automatic and manual was wayyyy more fun.

Porshe Cayenne is like the Maserati of SUVs. Once they come out of warranty, they're undesirable cars, and fixing anything in them away from warranty is almost double the price of any other car. To top that off the dodge charger is a reliable car, but it's very low quality and cheap interior.
Sure they rank the same, but the price is significantly different, on top of that, the rapid decrease in price is also different with both. Porches lose their value almost as fast as Mercedes, Maserati, Land Rover etc.
