Overall the film felt as though it was a typical explosion filled action/adventure film you see released every month. It never felt like Star Wars to me. I know things need to change but having watched all 6 movies a couple of days before watching the 7th, it felt incomplete. The new actors which were signaled as amazing felt out of place to me. I did grin when I saw Han Solo and Chewbacca and all the other members from the previous film but overall it felt so different. The music changes and the lack of proper storyline. 30 years is way too big a jump without properly explaining what happened. Will watch the next two but for me, the worst movie out of them all. I guess nostalgia ruined it for me, expected it to be the same as previous movies but I guess not. Thoughts? Am I the only one who feels this way?

I have thought about this before the movie was released thinkin that it may be a let down due to all of the hype around it. Have not yet watched the movie but will do soon

Watched it on release day, and honestly I'll have to disagree with you. I think it definitely felt like Star Wars, especially in juxtaposition with EP 1-3. No political BS, no dragging major plot elements through multiple movies, even though only one element was "finalized". I personally loved the movie.

i agree i honestly dont know what people expected or wanted , but it felt like star wars to me and it is my second favourite after emipre strikes back

I personally loved it, thought it was truly amazing and worth the wait and suspense. I am no movie critic and love almost any movie I watch, but this movie is a movie I could watch on repeat.

I watched it two days ago, and I think it was ok.

my dad had very high praise for the movie, unfortunately i'm very upset with myself i fell asleep 20 minutes in and woke up 20 minutes before it ended, but from the 40 minutes i saw i enjoyed what i watched although the ending..
