Hey RuneScapers,
I've come across this Forum a couple of times and I'm just
wondering what the game is like and if it is worth starting to play.
Thanks everyone!

All depends on what you play at this point. I can't speak for Runescape 3, but I'm a big fan of oldscape. Oldscape is a lot of grinding out skills, doing quests and so on. Really fun though, since you can watch something while you do it.
I'd say it's still worth playing or at least see if you like it. A lot of cool new things have come out, so there's a variety of things you could do.
If you need any help just let me know!

So the old RuneScape is better then the new one?

It's all a matter of opinion. I grew up on the old runescape, before the evolution of combat came out (RS3). You should try both and see which you prefer, maybe you'll like both.
Also you could try Darkscape (Rs3) or deadman mode (oldscape). Be aware, these are both new additions to the game and can be somewhat harder.
Really just comes down to what you like.

I wouldn't suggest doing Darkscape or Deadman mode until you've tried RS3/Oldschool RS for a while since they are both much more difficult. They're much easier or at least more tolerable when you have a decent amount of knowledge of the game. I personally prefer Oldschool and I think it is much easier to start from scratch with a decent understanding, RS3 for me was disorientating when I first tried it.
Also, Darkscape is the hardcore PvP version of RS3 while Deadman is the hardcore PvP version of Oldschool RS. Deadman has harsher death penalties than Darkscape, so it can be a bit more frustrating and challenging to play.

I would absolutely go with Oldscape. RS3 is just too much. Oldscape is absolutely great

Old School > RS3
If you have the time to play it, I highly suggest it. It's one of my most favorite games of all time.

With old school you'll get the hang of the game very quickly.
I've played RuneScape since 2007 and I'm still unfamiliar with a lot of the things on RS3.
Btw, how are people just now hearing about RuneScape...

Give Oldschool RS a try then, it's a save from 2007 that Jagex brought back and have added to. There's some new content in it that wasn't in the original game at that time, but the majority of people like it and pretty much every update is polled.
