****PC Build Request Form****

Budget & Currency:

Peripherals & Monitor:

Games:

Software:

Aesthetics:

Rebates(if applicable):

Details:

When:

Budget:
You DO have a budget. Without one, you will not get a response because it's impossible to do a build without one. Be as specific as possible and make sure you include your location in the topic title. Use the abbreviations "USD," "GBP," "CAD," or "AUD" because the symbols do not always show up properly. Ranges are fine and the use of "<" is as well, but this complicates things and we'll use the highest budget you provided. What you should put here is what you actually want to pay for your computer!

Peripherals and monitor:
Indicate whether any of these need to be worked into the budget. Keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, speakers, headphones, camera, router, flash drive, Pop Tarts... Anything you want included with your computer and worked into the budget. Don't change this on us after we've made you a list because then we have to re-do the whole thing.

Indicate what type of mouse grip you are if you want a mouse included (Claw, palm, finger) here as well. If you're getting a keyboard, what are your usage habits? (Example: 25% gaming; 75% typing) This will affect what switch type you will get on a mechanical keyboard. Rubber-dome boards will not be affected much by this. What are your preferences for your monitor if you're requesting one (screen size, finish, IPS, I/O, resolution above 1080p, etc.)?

Games:
If you don't play games, we won't place much importance on the graphics performance of your PC and instead focus on aspects that will be more useful for your purposes. If you do play games, listing some that you play (preferably the most demanding) will help us determine which parts are best suited for the job. Anything from Crysis 3 to NES emulators are fair game; don't hold back!

Software:
Here, post any applications you'll be frequently using. Anything from the basics, like web-browsers and media players, to demanding professional applications like Cinema 4D, Sony Vegas, AutoCAD, Realflow, Blender, Photoshop, After Effects, etc. There are a lot of editors on this site, so again, don't hold back. This has a big impact on what will be recommended! If you don't use demanding programs, don't feel like you need to list everything you use. "The basics" is enough.

Whether or not you can use Nvidia's CUDA technology and/or AMD's OpenCL will have an impact on what is recommended. You may need to evaluate this yourself and remember, Google is your friend.

Aesthetics:
If possible, we can try to include parts that color-coordinate without sacrificing performance or raising the cost. Performance will take priority over this choice, but we won't make it look awful just because the ugly parts happen to be the best choices. We'll go out of our way to make it look good and not clash too much. If we do, let us know. Looks will not be given as much importance if your case does not have a side panel, another thing you should indicate here. In this field you should also indicate if you would prefer a smaller build in an mATX or ITX case. This will affect many decisions.

Also tell us your preferred case design.

Rebates:
Many US-based retailers of PC components frequently offer mail-in rebates of significant value, as well as gift cards. You'll pay full price when you order it, but if you complete the rebate, which tends to be relatively painless, you can save a lot of money. This often results in a significantly better build. Here, you should indicate whether you would like the rebates and promos subtracted from the cost of the computer or whether we should use the full prices of the component when we are making your list. This often makes the difference between getting one product and another, so this is important. Some builds will end up with more mail-in rebates than others.

Promo codes are much better because they lower the total you will pay at checkout. The only catch is that they have expiration dates, which is another reason why it is important to order soon after requesting.

Details:
Is there anything else we should know when we're doing your build? Things that might not belong in the other sections can be here, which will help keep the others simple and concise. Here, you can post as much as you want. Would like you like your computer to be extra-compatible for a Hackintosh build? Do you need a special storage configuration like RAID? Is the use of an SSD or SSDs a necessity? Do you plan on dual-booting with multiple OSes? Do you plan on using certain GNU/Linux distros? Do you prefer a certain monitor size or finish?

When:
When are you going to order these parts? Do you have the money ready? These are questions you need to answer truthfully and realistically. Requests should be submitted a matter of days before you plan on ordering; the nearer the better. If you're "planning ahead," "just seeing what you can get," "just curious," "possibly able to do this," or anything of this nature, please do not post. If you're not ordering in the next few days or you're uncertain you'll have the money available, wait. There have been many posts in the past that can show you what you can get for a certain budget, so use the search function of the site. If you're wondering what 1000 GBP will get you, simply search "1000 GBP PC build".

If you don't want to do any custom loops, custom cases etc

You could chop it down hugely by taking out one of the SSDs, dropping a GPU, getting less RAM, get a cheaper KB + Mouse (if you don't already have them) but that is pretty much the best you'll get for your money.
