Not sure what to do here I currently have my iPhone 6 on the 8.4 jailbreak but is it worth updating it to 9.0.2 and jailbreaking from there? (If they let me update to 9.0.2)

You cannot update to 9.0.2 so you could wait until 9.1 jailbreak is released then update.

Yeah Apple stopped signing iOS 9.0.2 so you can either stay on your current version and stay jailbroken or update to latest version and loose your jailbreak until next release.

wait till they release for 9.2. I don't think any of them have plans to make a jailbreak for 9.1
