So I've spent the day playing my way through Assassins Creed Syndicate got to around 40% complete, I then had to go out for awhile with the fam.I then come back and load up the game and it restarts me.It's done this with several other games like GTA etc. Ive basically done everything I could think of,reinstalling the games etc, and nothing seems to work...

Anyone know of a way of fixing this? Its starting to piss me off abit

"Well after chatting with an xbox rep, my problem has been resolved. Yes my games kept not saving and I had to restart from the very beginning of the game, not to any save or check point, but to the opening credits. Anyway I suspected it might have something to do with cloud save feature on the console, so I tried playing it offline, didnt work, so I reconnected it then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, didnt work, tried turning it off all the way, didnt work, tried removing and then re-adding my profile to the console and still that didnt work.

Finally, after having tried everything short of taking a hammer to the thing, I tried restoring it to factory settingsit worked. My previously lost game saves were back and my games saved like they should. However be aware that doing this it will uninstall your games and whatever apps you had and youll have to go through the initial set up process again, which honestly isnt that bad since it didnt take that long the second time around.

As to why this happened, I actually have a guess. The day after I first brought the new console home I moved the xbox one to the living room to show off to my roommates, however I apparently unplugged it in standby mode not realizing that I could shut it off all way if I held the power button for a while, about 15 seconds to be exact, until the light on the power brick went from white to solid orange. Im guessing that by doing that , unplugging the console in standby mode, it somehow messed with whatever syncs my xbox one to the cloud and essentially disconnected my console from the fabled cloud and in turn cut me off from my game saves.

TLDR,

I fixed my xbox one saving issue by restoring it to factory settings"

Grabbed this from the xbox site.

Hopefully this solution works, I'd also suggest moving to PC ;)
