Heli wrote I personally think smoking is a terrible habit.

It's not worth my health or anyones health for that matter. if you were smart you wouldn't smoke. but in reality everyone is addicted to something. whether its good or bad.

If you were smart then you would probably have a good job which pays well which normally includes a high factor of stress. This means smoking is a great way to relieve stress and improve social status by sharing an activity with co-workers meaning you have received mental and social health benefits from smoking

You can't work if you're dead.

Why would this hypothetical person be dead ? Are you suggesting cancer if so then you obviously don't understand how little impact on the death rate smoking caused cancer has and that smoking is one of hundreds of things that cause cancer just like bacon.
Are you saying people wont be working since they have had a full English breakfast.

Lung cancer is the most common form of cancer, and the most common cause of lung cancer is smoking.
If you can show me a study which demonstrates that full English breakfasts are the leading cause of some kind of cancer then I'll say you're right.
Smoking leads to many different health problems, you don't have to die from lung cancer to have died from smoking.

and wait, what?

You obviously don't understand how little impact on the death rate smoking caused cancer has

Like I've said, lung cancer is the most deadly form of cancer in both men and women and cancer is the second leading cause of death.
I can quote numerous medical websites including the NHS stating that lung cancer is mainly caused by smoking, the NHS actually gives the figure at 90%.

It doesn't have little impact on the death rate, it has a huge impact.

Don't get me wrong, I do not care one bit if you smoke, but don't make it seem like it's some insignificant life choice with minimal health implications and huge social benefits. That is simply a dangerous position to be trying to convince people of, especially on a website filled with impressionable teenagers who might be going through that stage where they're feeling pressured into smoking.

Literally smoking has no positives at all like I could see why some people would like to smoke Weed because yeah it has a few negatives affects but also has some positives my pain relief and it also helps people with anxiety and depression but cigarettes don't do anything i mean i guess when u first start u get that little 30 head rush but other then that all it is is getting addicted to the nicotine and yeah i guess after your addicted your brain finds getting the nicotine help and calms you down or eases stress but like really why the hell would wanna start in the first place? like do you have nothing else to do so you just smoke your life away? i don't understand it at all. But also those commercials are good what do you want your kid if you have one to make there life shorter? Like really its just so stupid cant you find something better to do then ruin your lungs for **** sake.

I started "dipping" when I was 15, I got older and started doing both then slowly just smoking. My dad now has COPD and hes been smoking for 40+years. I have now quit smoking with my dad both cold turkey cause now I know if I continue I will be in his position around the same age.

Seeing a loved one getting cancer or any other disease will change your mind about smoking.
