So lately I've just been getting depressed just thinking about losing anyone in my family, I'm currently in my senior year of high school and both of my parents are coming up on the age of 50. It is scaring the **** out of me that one day they will just be gone and i will not have anyone to come to. To be honest guys, over the past few months I have teared up a lot even thinking about it. I feel like I won't be able to do anything after my parents die.
Usually I'm this outgoing person that loves to hang out with people but lately i barely have even tried making conversations with people because all i do is think about this shit. Please if you guys have any advice on how to deal with it. I'm open to anything at this point.

My dad passed away last February and it was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I think about it every day. But these are the things that you just can't think about. You gotta stay positive and enjoy every moment you have with them instead of worrying how much time you have left with them.

The way I think of it as who knows if your parents will even die before you. They could die as the same time as you, as well as everyone else on this World. Nobody knows if we'll even be here in a week (Which isn't true at all, but ya know.) That's the way I think of it.

Real "men" aren't afraid to express their feelings you dickwad.
If you lost someone important, wouldn't you be a wreck?

@OP I lost my grandmother 4 days before my birthday last year. It is awful, and it never gets better, but it gets easier.
It isn't as bad as you think, because it they are in pain like my grandmother was, he or she is better off gone.

Have you ever lost a loved one? I doubt it.

OP: Yeah, coping with loss is a hard thing to do. I dont suffer from depression, but I do have my moments when I think about loss. You cant stop it. I wish we could. My parents are "old" also, so I get worried about being on my own one day. Its a topic I only think about at certain times, but it always gets me sad.

Get the **** outta here! Don't comment if you're just gonna talk shit!

Its hard man, but as much as the guy above is a dick he is right about everyone is gonna die one day.
My nan passed away a few weeks ago, it was the hardest thing I have been through along side with losing my grandad a few years ago to cancer. There isnt a day that goes by where I dont think about them and I go up to their grave about 5 times a week. (If i didnt have youmg kids it would be everyday) I just like to think they are both at rest and hopefully that heaven exists so they could be back together. The only thing I regret is not spending as much time as I could of, thats what hits me the most.

Well ill stop getting all emotional and tell you straight. Spend as much time with them as you can, call them every evening even if its a 5min call. The more memories you have the more easier it will be to cope when they do pass away.. heck man your parents could live to 90 or even 100+.. just make sure you dont disrespect them even if its just ignoring them because they said something that got to you. When they do go, you want to makensure nothing bothers you or makes you beat yourself up because you wish you had done something differently.

Man just live for the moment!! 50 is still young, they wouldn't want you to be worried they'd want you to spend quality time with them. We all know everything has to go sometime unfortunately that's how life goes. The best thing you can do is spend quality time with your parents so you have great memories whenever the sad day comes.

Enjoy them why you have them. Lifes life. Everyone eventually dies, no point worrying about it.
