As far as people that are not in the preview program just yet, and are wanting to get their hands on the brand new xbox one dashboard. Wait. I HIGHLY not recommend the update.

Things i love about the new dashboard:
-New Design
-Snap option A LOT faster

Problems i personally experienced:
-85% of the time when in a game or app i will not be able to go to the dash or use the snap feature. Only way to switch games or dashboard is completely restarting the system.
-All games will freeze for about 10 seconds randomly and completely go back to normal.
Party chat bugs galore.
-Game crashes 75% more often
-Friends recordings just had a green screen with sound.(Screenshots worked just fine)
-Console will randomly turn off(3 times it has happened)

And the best problem eva:
-System corruption; playing a game. got laggy. game crashed. Went to dashboard. Froze. Turned off by itself. I turned it back on and it was welcoming me like this was the first time me playing my xbox, everything got deleted. Thankfully not my external Hard drive. Now downloading about 400GB worth of content back and chosen to go back to the old dashboard.

Ive been in the preview program ever since it was basically an option, way before backwards compatibility, windows 10, etc. So yes i was expecting bugs and glitches, but this was mind blowing of how unfinished it was. To me i was expecting bugs just like when the xbox 360 changed its own xbox dashboard, yes im in the preview program, i got the first wave of it. But unless i got the worst batch of downloads and nobody else experienced any of these, in my eyes they tested this on 2 xbox's and were like "Well... its ready".

So quick Question for the testers out there, did you have any problems like this?

Netflix doesn't work very well for me. I can't turn off my controller without it pausing the stream as I turn the controller off. Edge also pauses video whenever I'm streaming anime if I have my controller on. It's a new controller so that's not the problem. Neither does the xbox companion app.

Those are the only problems I'm running into. Haven't had any game crashes or freezes.

The worst part is when you lag out of a party but it doesn't tell you. You're sitting there talking to yourself thinking everything is okay when you get an invite back to the party. It's both embarrassing and frustrating.

It irritated me that couldn't use my xbox for any video streaming apps anymore and can't watch my friends clips. So I went to PC.

This is the only problem I've had with it so far, but it happens a lot.

I just love it when my controller disconnects and the party bugs out and freezes.

Well that's what the preview program is for to test out new bugs in it before it gets release to everyone.

Agreed, it is for testing and not just for getting updates before everyone else. Also, it sounds like you got the crappy end of the stick. I've only noticed issues with green screen video clips which end up work after trying a couple times. And while in a party and my controller turns off it glitches and puts me to game chat.

EDIT:

They should also add a re-install option in settings. If any issues as much as your experiencing you can re-install the dashboard and maybe get rid of most of them.

My party froze and made me leave and I was sitting there talking for 5 minutes until I realised I wasn't in a party.

I get this a lot and im not even in the preview program... So i do not understand why it does this.. I would understand once but 5 times a day... yeah no thank you
