I recently bought a galaxy note 5 off of my friend and when he did the reset he must've not taken off his google account so I'm stuck at account verification when I turn it on and he doesn't remember his password, is there anything I could do?

I also looked around on the internet and saw that some people "flashed" there phone to lollipop 5.0 is this possible to do on my phone?
