I am looking to getting a motorbike, i know what i need but i don't know if i should get a A1 or A2 bike? i would love some advice on what bike i should get and how much it would cost for insurance and everything for a first time rider at 18.

Well...

A2 min age = 19

So you're going to have to go for A1, have you passed your CBT?

You need to be looking at 125s.

All depends on what you're going to use it for..

If you have no experience at all I would get the CBT done and get more experience on a 125 before moving up..
Also I think you need to be 19 to get your restricted A2 license.

Well I have had a shot of a few 125s.. Honda CBF, Honda CBR, Yamaha YZFR 125 and a few Chinese bikes in between. Honda MSX being the one I currently own.

Best thing to do is go have a seat on them to see which one would be more suitable and comfortable for you.
Insurance is something you would need to check for yourself. Mine is currently 220gbp for the year and that is including my mods I have declared.

Your age is 18, therefore you can have a 125. If you have passed your cbt then you are able to do your A1 which means you can have a 125 without L plates and you are also aloud in the motorway as well as being able to carry a pillion. I would recommend that you get a 125 to get on road experience, that is what I have done. I have a WR125X and I love it, although once I do my bike license I will look at a Yamaha R6.
