I would like to root my Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo, but the only methods I have found are "MOFOROOT", which looks pretty promising, but I really don't want to drop $20 on it. The others are "One Touch Root" programs, which look very shady. I'm kinda a noob when it comes to rooting and what not, I am some what familiar with capabilities as I have jailbroken IDevices in the past.

Dude, as shady as those one touch methods look they are really promising.
Towelroot and KingoRoot and two of the best Android One Touch Root methods I personally use them.
I hope this helps out, if not message me so I can look into it more.
