Wish I could still close threads.
There is too much ignorance surrounding this topic on TTG, people disregarding the fact we created and partly funded all of the "Terrorist groups" in the Middle-east.
Most people on here are unable to empathise with refugees running for their lives because of a situation the UK/US put them in when the Syrian civil war began.

pls close thred staf

You wish to close a thread because others have a different opinion and belief to yourself?

There's nothing wrong with a healthy discussion.. as long as it stays healthy. I too believe that we should empathise with the refugees, but I welcome the opinion of others. In fact, debating about these issues is essential; it gives us a broader perspective on the crisis, and helps us to make our own informed decision. The only issue I see here is that it could turn into a flame war if people are too ignorant, and act irresponsibly towards others.

This topic already has had a huge discussion thread which is why I said I would close.
A healthy discussion is always good but not when people haven't bothered to educate themselves on the topic before commenting, which is mostly what these threads are full of.

It does not matter if there is already another thread created about the same discussion.. If he wanted to start his own then he can. And if you would close a thread because of that reason there is no wonder you can not do it any more and do not deserve to be able to do it.!

I think it was a bad move. They also released a statement about various bombings to happen.

Its quite frightening.

I can't think of a reason why both of these threads are required for the same topic. The other one was created first and has more response. If we all posted in the same topic, there would be more discussion and the forum would be tidier.

Too many people living in constant fear. It's embarrassing.

These are people that are running from their home countries because they have a very real threat of being killed. They're leaving their families and communities behind because they fear for their lives.

Does that mean they're all terrorists who are determined to kill you or take your precious freedoms? Not even close.

You have people that are fleeing war torn countries because there is literally nothing left for them except suffering and poverty.

They aren't leaving their countries because they want to.
They're leaving because they have to.
