I honestly don't see how TH8s make it so high up unless all they face is low TH9s or they just get a shit ton of snipes.

Well, I do get a lot of TH 9's. Most of them are TH Snipes but some are 50% from the troops I use.

In my opinion they shouldn't give you bad bases to attack because it just takes the reward away. Low levels should have to attack max th10s like all the high levels do to get to that trophy level.
