In the next few weeks, i will be upgrading my current GPU (970 4GB) to either a Titan x, or a 980ti.
But will both of them be compatible with my computer? here are my specs:

mobo: Asus Z97 - A

I dont know my psu model, but I know it is 600W

any help would be great.

thanks

Unless you're gaming at 4k don't get either, get a 390 if you're at 1080P.

Well, shortly after upgrading the GPU, I will be buying a 4k monitor, therefore I will be gaming at 4k, yes.

Pros of the 980Ti:

6GB of VRAM
Can deliver 4K, 60 fps in many games
Overclockable, power efficient, and relatively quiet under load
Much cheaper than the Titan X

Cons of the 980\ti

You'll need two for guaranteed 60 fps ultra settings
4K is still impractically demanding and expensive for gaming.

I'd personally go for the Titan X as SLi can cause some problems and not all games are fully compatable with SLI/Xfire...

If you have got the money go with the Titan X's 12GB VRAM. Will last a while and gives good performance.

Save yourself $400 and get a 980ti. You could always SLI it but it still runs at about 50 FPS on 4k. If you really want 60, go for the Titan, but imo thats a waste of $400. The 980ti is basically a Titan X with half the VRAM.

Do not buy a Titan X. It's a waste. Do not swap a 970 for a 390, makes no sense. Grab a 980Ti and a good 1440p panel.

Find the model/make of your PSU as if its a bag of shit I'd very strongly advise you to replace it.
