Hey guys,
So recently my grandpa told me he would pay for lessons if I wanted to learn to code, so I'm thinking why not give it a shot. I know this might be the wrong forum, but is there a certain place that would be the best to learn from? I'd like to learn how to make programs, and eventually I think it'd be cool if I knew enough to make my own XRPC or JRPC program. Yes, I know I could look up a tutorial on YouTube or Google on how to make it but I want to learn how and to actually understand what it all means rather than copying and pasting. And one last question, how much would I have to learn to be able to create my own XRPC program? I mean like, how far would I have to go before I could attempt it.

If you're just going to code to create an XRPC program, don't even bother learning. Programming has much more potential than that. I wouldn't do lesson's from someone as books are available and take you step by step, books cost from 30 - 60 usd so they can be pretty expensive for a book. For the time being, I would advise you to search through the programming languages that you would like to know and then watch tutorials on youtube. That's how most people start out.

If you are looking to learn more than just XRPC tools then you should check out UDEMY. Most of their courses are around $25-$50 if you can find them on sale. They go really in depth and I find them really beneficial. You should try to check them out.

I don't want to learn it just for that, I'm just saying I would eventually want to make one using what I've learned. I think I'm going to watch YouTube videos to see if it's something I really want to do, thanks.

I'll take a look at UDEMY. I tried a couple lessons on Codeacademy and it wasn't too bad.

UDEMY is a good site for one-off purchasing courses. Lynda.com is also good it's basically the same as Udemy except it's subscription based.
