So this is my first computer build and without realizing I ended up buying Windows 8.1 OEM as it was obviously cheaper and had gotten a $10 or $20 mail in rebate on it. My question is, is installing an OEM going to be the same as a regular OS install just without support from Microsoft and what not, or is there anything else I would need to do before hand or even afterwards? Any help would be appreciated.

it installs like any other version of windows. The only difference between the the OEM version you have and a non-OEM version is that the OEM version does not have "retail" packaging with manuals and such.
