I just need help deciding which one to buy. They are both pretty similar, I just am curious which one would be your preference and if the extra 4gb of ram and bigger screen size would really be worth it. This will be used mainly for gaming and for school.

Well screen size is preference, the 1920x1080 will look better on the 15 inch because the pixels are compressed.
No real need for the extra RAM, 12GB should be good unless you are using extremely demanding programs. I have 8GB in my desktop and never go over it (Using After Effects and other programs at the same time), a lot of companies make the RAM the highlight because most people thing the more RAM the quicker the laptop and the user will never use half of the RAM.
If you need it you can get a 8GB stick to upgrade the other for $50 here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
