I'm using this for some moderate gaming, but also for multi tasking/engineering programs. Those programs are CAD, civil 3d and Revit. Probably more to come as I progress through college. This build will be sufficient for those programs (8gb ram wise and processor speed).

I just want opinions on the over build and if it'll be a good one. Thanks!

Don't pay for your OS, get the Win10 preview for free and you'll get a free update to the full version of Win10 in a month.

More GPU power.

Better CPU, and larger SSD.

I would do what you're saying and get the Win10 preview. However, I must stay enrolled in the insider program and opt-in to future pre-release builds of the OS to test. Which means I might have to deal with a buggy build, and if I opt-out then I must pay for Win10. Too much of a hassle for me which I don't want to deal with.

You can always get Win7 or Win8.1 for free instead. No need to pay for an OS.

Even if you're determined to pay for an OS, which I have no idea why you'd want to do that, you could get either this;

Go with the second suggested build ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . If you're using the programs you listed above, the Xeon's virtual threads could be very helpful. Also, of course, the R9 380 just came out and stands to be a very good graphics card. Plus it has a 4 gb version that isn't too expensive. Any SSD is so fast that you will never want to stop using it, so getting a bigger capacity SSD is always a good route.
