I never understood the point of getting a smurf to boost you.

If you get a LE or higher smurf that just destroys everything, you ruin the game for the other team since it's not fun to get owned.

If you do get someone that good and get some wins and he boosts you some ranks, if you're only silver, you're probably not that good so if you're boosted to gold, you'll player better players while you're still not good so you'll enjoy it less and just get deranked.
