MG_Megadeth wrote On the channel art I noticed that you have 3 styles going on. Your name has no effects at all and the top and bottom text have this cheap looking texture to them. I like the effect on the logo the best, I think it's called fake 3D.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm improving my channel art at the moment.

I'd appreciate a link to a fake 3d tutorial though.
Don't let what people say knock you, It takes nerves to post for opinions and some people are quick to fire shots! but most of the people just want to help

So since you're new I have a few tips for you.

Do not get into the habit of calling an avatar a logo.
A logo can be used in an avatar.
But making an avatar with a logo in it, is not called a logo.

Don't get into the whole generic youtube scene.
You can pretty much go 2 ways from here. Art or Design.
You can use the digital programs to create art that satisfies you're creative imagination.
Or you can use them to design things like logos, cards, posters, sites, etc.

I'm not saying you can only do one or the other, either.
But if you want to start with design, have a go at logos and more than just making simple avatars, and generic youtube banners.

Last tip, when you get a little better... don't call your work "gfx".
To more professional or experienced designers, it's practically an insult.

Now onto your work...

The avatar is quite simple.
And that's not bad. Some of the nicest work comes from simplicity.
Someone on here said "All you have done is got a font and changed the color and moved it over a bit."
That doesn't make it bad.
It shouldn't have too many colors. Or too many different fonts.
Simple and clean, although the background gray is a bit dull.

The banner is a little less good.
I don't like the font specifically the way the E is shaped.
It could be hard to identify at a glance.

You're also mixing a few different styles here...
The glitchy effect on the logo...
Simple and clean on the side text...
And textured on the top/bottom text...

Remember, consistency is key.

Personally, I'd remove the "GFX" and "TUTORIALS" text altogether.
However, if you wish to keep it, I'd suggest taking the texture off it.
It looks rocky and rough. Does not look good.

Lastly, I'd make the background color slightly lighter.
A dark gray always looks good, but you don't want it too dark.
Try something around (color code) 2b2b2b

@WlLL Thanks for that Adobe Color CC thing. That might come in handy.

If your looking to become a graphics designer and want to use 3D instead of 2D, download Cinema 4D. It works wonders

No stay away from Cinema 4D.
