I'm downloading a game on steam, and it's only downloading at ~70kb/s, but the task manager under performance claims I'm getting 1.1mb/s. Is there anyway to dedicate all of the 1.1mb/s to steam? I'm not running anything in the background and Windows update is disabled.

You basically are. the 70kbps is KiloBYTES per second the 1.1mbs is 1.1 MegaBITS per second. 2 different things. the 1.1mbs is like 130 kilobytes. you can't really get much more than that..

I don't mean to offend you, but seriously can you count? 1.1mbps = 1100kbps.

If 1.1Mbp/s is your download speed, you have to divide that by 8 as there is 8 bits to a byte.
So your actual download speed will be something close to 130KB/s.
Also with internet speeds. B = bytes & b = bits.

1100 kbps(kilobits per second) = 137.5 kilobytes per second

smh...i dont mean to offend YOU sir...but he is right not you...
there are 8 bits in 1 byte. 8 * 130 = 1.04MB
FYI...task manager is in MB not Mb
