Boosting is when you pay someone or have a friend to boost you up ranks, for example, say you are Silver Elite, you're Friend would party up with you, get you wins & rank you up to Master Guardian, either using Cheats or by Smurfing.

Your first 10 games are used to place your Rank, the better you play during those 10 games the higher ranks you will be placed against & the rank you will eventually get as well, If you are consistently playing well against those Gold ranks, after 10 games you will most likely be ranked Gold Nova 1-3, if you struggle, somewhere in the Silvers.

After I got ranked the other day I was put as gold nova master, will I get de-ranked because I hate playing bottom fragger every game. I play decent sometimes but I need to play lower ranked people to get used to the game but I keep joining teams that win games haha. Will I get used to the rank i'm at?

You seem to know a good bit about CS:GO. I'm also new to the game and was wondering if you could help me out. I've only played 5 competitive matches, winning two of them. I now have a message saying "Before you play competitive matches further please wait for matchmaking servers to calibrate your skill group placement based on your latest performance". Do you know why I'm getting this message

The reason you have this is you have won two games in a row and you are not ranked. for some reason cs go puts you in a day cooldown to calibrate how well you have played etc. its nothing to worry about bro

The reason they have it is to help prevent cheaters or smurfers just constantly making new accounts, someone is less likely to cheat if they have to wait 24 hours after every 2 games.
