I didn't even think you could change your name on Ps3?

And it's really not that bad, It's better then having people changing their names every game and causing havoc but not being able to pinpoint who it is because they have a new name every game.

My opinion is that I would agree why have to pay money to change your name?but only if you could change it for free a limited amount of times after that you start to pay.

Rin wrote If it was free, it would be hard to catch scammers and modders of they were constantly changing names. Plus, it's paid for so good gamertags aren't taken.

I don't like the system but I think they should just do what Steam does. Have a main username and have a display name in game.

Microsoft doesn't use Gamertags to track people down.. LOL
I didn't even say Microsoft tracked people down this way. I'm talking about regular users who'd want to report them. I'd love for you to tell me me where I wrote that.

" it would be hard to catch scammers and modders of they were constantly changing names." Microsoft uses IP and console IPs if anything before a Username to track someone.

According to Microsoft, making gamertag change free would "overload the servers", with the amount of people who would change their gamertag. It's obviously a huge lie. Microsoft just want to get as much money as possible from their customers.

I know hes talking about xbox, he made a point in saying every other system is free, even though ps3 doesn't allow name changes at all the best of my memory.

Your reasoning for "it's just a Gamertag" is useless, it's a good way to make money.

Not sure if some body already wrote this, but I don't feel like going through every reply to check.

I don't really mind the fee to chance your gamertag, it makes sense IMO
as you got a free change when you made your account.

But something that I would add is that every year of XBL Gold entitles you to a free GT change.
