Hello everyone,

So I currently still have a spare tower lying about and all it's had done to it is the RAM upgraded to 8GB from 4GB. I want to use this tower as one I take with me when I go away from home for a few weeks or whatnot but as it is it won't be able to handle playing games other than source games like GMOD and Team Fortress.

I'm needing help knowing if there is any parts that I can replace in this like a CPU that will be compatible with the motherboard and so on and is better than the triple core in this as it is. (Noticeable difference). Maybe a small size GPU that will give a performance boost while playing games and a PSU to handle the new parts? I can fit the parts I just don't know what's compatible with what.

The tower is this one: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

As I said this is only for taking with me as a temp tower to play some games like CS: GO and that on while I'm away from home.

Thanks alot for any help guys!

im not that educated in pc building and stuff like that, but i wouldnt recommend that case/tower as i have one just like that and theyre small and also dont have good enough airflow for gaming (prorably for small durations)

i would recommend getting a new case (not too expensive not too cheap of course)

Whats your price range?

also if you do want to replace the case would you want it to be fancy (also more pricey!)

Checking the link you provided it shows it had a Quad core not triple. Just to make sure it's a triple core?? Also it seems it's using Onboard Graphics so you don't technically have to "Replace" anything... However, If you could provide me with a price range so I can see what you could get.

Sorry for the 5 day late bump. Been busy. I have a budget of like 200 GBP to upgrade it. Is there a graphics card that will fit in the case? I'm not sure about like smaller GPUs and what would fit in the case since I think the motherboard is MicroATX.

Not sure what processors would fit on the chipset either?

Also the PC I have it the one down from that Acer it's running an Athlon X3 not an X4 so it only has three cores.

This is the exact PC I have to upgrade as a travel gaming PC: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Thanks alot guys.

Honestly, this is your best bet;

Re-use the 8GB of DDR3 RAM you said that you already have and re-use your HDD. Add in a GPU when you can, and use the iGPU for now. Add an SSD when you can, and you'll probably want to add another HDD for mass storage at some point.
