It's after driving for around 10 15 min when ever I'm at a stop light (with the windows down) or park and get out I smell a plastic burning type of smell it's only outside the car never inside there's no smoke I've read a little about what it could be online like a plastic bag on the exhaust or the liners of my tires breaks ect but i can't find anything wrong I figured I would see if anyone here might have experienced something similar. it's been happening for 2 weeks

Also check your wiring harness they could be something cheap plastic harness that has fallen onto a value cover(although they shouldn't get that hot) and check your exhaust manifolds for anything laying on them.

If you have subs it could be your amp. If not maybe it's a wire to your radio it happened to my friend but it should go away. Also may be your braking too fast and it's your parke pads.

Your cat could probably be causing the smell also, I'd check that.

Is the smell pungent? I had a similar issue and at first I thought it was a plastic burning smell. After a few weeks it ended up being my battery was leaking and the corrosion on the terminals seems to smell over time.

Just a suggestion, smell your battery.
