I would suggest playing with friends but it's always good to go in drop-in lobbys and meet people and maybe they want to join your club or you join his.

I especially play in goals (GK) as because everytime I play drop-in matches I either get tackled by my own teammate just because he can't play competitive and wants his goals.
If your getting started into pro clubs I would suggest you buy the boosts in the catalogue to boost your pro's rating and stats up.

You wont get anything from drop in matches, they aint worth the time, if i were you id wait for your friend rather than go in a drop in
