I know there is a lot of confusion going around about how you can actually play as the Hacker and what the Hacker does. Well, I'am going to clear all that up for you so here it goes:


Every multiplier game mode on Battlefield: Hardline allows 1 player from each team have this unique role.

There are 9 options available that can either help your own team out or hurt the enemy team. Those options being:

Backdoor
GPS Spotting
Squad Upgrade
Fast Deploy
Overclock
Trace
GPS Jamming
Point of Interest
Trojan




Each option you use can be upgraded depending on how often and effective you use them ranging from levels 1-5



Backdoor

Version 1
Gain control of an automated in-world object by exposing a backdoor vulnerability.

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Lowers the latency requirements of this subroutine, thus giving a smaller cooldown time

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 2


Version 3
Uses less active memory, reducing the cooldown further.

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 10


Version 4
Batch processes commands, further lowering this subroutine's cooldown

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 9


Version 5
Uses even less memory, greatly reducing cooldown

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 8




Fast Deploy

Version 1
Decrease the deploy time for a Squad by rerouting traffic

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Scrambles the traffic controller's systems, leading to a longer duration before being purged

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 6


Version 3
Tracks satellite navigation systems, allowing for better traffic signal coordination and a greater decrease in return time

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 6


Version 4
Uses a more advanced routing algorithm to further decrease return time and cut cooldown time.

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 5


Version 5
Virtually invisible to an automated traffic controller, leading to a much longer duration before being purged.

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 14




GPS Jamming

Version 1
Eliminate passive spotting by scrambling your team's GPS coordinates.

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Sends a stronger scramble signal, greatly increasing the affected area. Hacker Bronze

Unlocked- Service Star 4


Version 3
Refactors the code to run in parallel, making the cooldown faster and the duration longer

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 1


Version 4
Uses a signal amplifier, further increasing the area of affect

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 10


Version 5
Reaches further while increasing the duration and speeding up cooldown time.

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 9




GPS Spotting

Version 1
Reveal enemy locations by gaining access to their GPS devices

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Uses WiFi on GPS devices to echo the original signal, increasing the spotting area

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 7


Version 3
Batch processes incoming signals, increasing cooldown speed

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 5


Version 4
Amplifies the signal, further increasing the spotting area

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 4


Version 5
Optimizes for parallel architecture, decreasing the cooldown and dramatically increasing the duration.

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 13




Overclock

Version 1
Decrease the cooldown on all subroutines - WARNING: some subroutines may overheat after use

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Uses less active memory, increasing cooldown speed

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 1


Version 3
Includes a watercooling heat dissipation system, which increases clock speed and decreases overheat time

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 4


Version 4
Detects high heat areas and applies more coolant, reducing the number of subroutines that overheat

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 3


Version 5
Optimizes coolant application, leading to faster cooldown, higher clock speeds, lower overheat time, and even fewer overheated subroutines

Point of Interest

Version 1
Highlight an important objective for one of your Squads through an AR overlay

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Can run on the latest AR firmware, allowing the POI to last longer

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 5


Version 3
Unlocks the AR clock speed to recharge the cooldown faster

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 2


Version 4
Uses more of the AR battery for an even faster cooldown

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 1


Version 5
Hacks the AR kernel, allowing it the POI to last even longer on the HUD

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 10




Squad Upgrade

Version 1
Boost the Reputation of every Squad member to the next tier by upgrading their firmware

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Reduces active memory, increasing cooldown speed

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 9


Version 3
Optimizes many lists into a hashtable, further increasing cooldown speed

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 8


Version 4
Decreases the effects of latency, speeing up the cooldown even more

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 7


Version 5
Includes hardware-specific changes, yielding the fastest cooldown possible

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 16




Trace

Version 1
Reveal High Value Targets and enemy Hacker subroutines with an area scan

Unlocked- Default


Version 2
Sends multiple signals at difference frequencies, which increases its duration and also displays Spawn Beacons

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 8


Version 3
Adds a signal that display any Trojans on an interaction placed by another hacker

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 7


Version 4
Echos signal off multiple radio towers, increasing its duration

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 6


Version 5
Interpolates positions with a more advanced algorithm, further increasing its duration

Trojan

Version 1
Speed friendly interaction and slow enemy interaction; nullify enemy subroutines instantly

Version 2
Confuses administrative processes on interactions, allowing for a longer duration before being shut down

Unlocked- Hacker Bronze Service Star 3


Version 3
Sends multiple shadow copies to interactions, confusing the detection system and allowing it to last longer

Unlocked- Hacker Silver Service Star 3


Version 4
Bypasses early detection systems and instead hacks the kernel inside an interaction, further increasing its duration

Unlocked- Hacker Gold Service Star 2


Version 5
Refactors much of the code to run in parallel, greatly reducing cooldown for all uses
