Im not one for rants,but there are some problems with ttg i see. Im sure these points have already been posted early,but im just going to reiterate some things.
To start off i have just come back to ttg after taking a one month break off it.
I have come back to even more spam and annoying dumb posts on this website. Its qw if 12 year olds are half our active members. Not saying 12 years old are bad we were all 12 at one point anyway. I have come back to see many what are you favorite,rate this,watch my montage,listen to my this blah,blah you get the point. To be honest most people dont give a shit about it. But these posts continue to pop up. It really started getting bad after the whole revamping of the rules,which im all for less strict rules,but its if staff have become less interactive with moderation, in my opinion,not trying to rip on staff. Also im sorry but its not just the general discussion its also the gold member general discussion, its literally rate my name,is this a good name, and the available ttg usernames posts which come and go. I never have felt that the gold member general discussion was great or even good honesty. Which brings me to another point which people will probably hate on me for talking about, is the $50+ giveaways. Which tend to be fake more than not. People are going to say"Oh its there money dont tell them how to spend it". Im not trying to but,dont host a $50+ giveaway for rep and thanks,really you think people do it just because they really kind or something. All in all they want thanks,so they can have a badge. Its a messed up system because you really can never tell who gets the money, or if they winner ever received it.
Im really not trying to call anyone out or rip on ttg,i just feel that ttg one year or 2 years ago was so much better in general,better members, more meaningful posts etc. I might get hate for this,or it might just get deleted i really dont know. If you disagree with me tell me why./rant

I don't really agree with any of your points to be honest. I think the site is better for being a little less strict on rules and especially in the general discussion. Obviously users do care about it or they would get buried by other posts, but users still continue to post on it and the general section is meant for ANYTHING and even things you personally deem to be stupid or not needed. That is what it is there for, and I am happy that they made things more lenient in there.
As for the giveaways and you thinking there is no way to know if it is legit or not, staff read PMs all the time. If users were posting giveaways that were fake, they would be getting warnings and bans more so than they are. The giveaways are legit. Also, what does it matter if users are gifting for a badge, giving money away for a badge or rep, or whatever their reason is? As long as they are giving gold away on site or money away via PayPal or Amazon then I see no issue. Let them get a badge and rep, that shit is expensive to do for free. Money is tight and hard to come by, plus it is theirs so what does it bother you?

For those that do giveaways for things around $15 or less, and they post that phrase "Thanks and rep isn't necessary but appreciated", its obvious they seek something in return for their so-called 'generosity'.
But for those that do those huge giveaways like those $50+ giveaways as you stated, its fair to say that for their giveaway of such an ample amount of cash to just give it away, I say that it's fair for them to remind others to show some appreciation by thanking/repping them. Its not often that you see some random person just handover a decent amount of cash to some random over the internet.
I agree with you about the whole general discussion being filled with complete irrelevance but staff do their part in removing such irrelevant topics that are just complete spam. Thats fine,im not trying to persuade you to anything.I completely understand everything you said.Also if money is tight and hard to come by why give it away lol. But still its theres to do as they please,i do agree with that. I have known of a giveaway where someone was suppose to win an "item" thats what we will call it,this user picked a winner and supposedly had shipped the item,to which i contacted the user who had won and he had said he never got it. So they got away with scamming. Also many ttg $50 giveaways are to there friends like oh i just happened to pick my friend...What a coincidence. I know people have been scammed in giveaways. I just think me personally am maturing out of the website,because this website is not going to help me in real life,i cant do any thing on here to pay bills or get me into college. Thats just me.

These spam posts have been on this site forever. It's just an endless cycle. This is why I don't like posting in GD sometimes because It's the same "What's your favorite" topic every week or so.
With people using giveaways for badges, I could care less. But if it was a scam attempt to get thanks, then the staff can easily get rid of the thread.
