Good to hear he's ok. Unfortunately it's not as simple as creating a universal cancer cure. There are a lot of difference cancers all with different effective and ineffective treatments and potential cures. Also cancer is a billion dollar industry and releasing a cure would reduce that billion dollar industry drastically.

My sister is a cancer survivor. I was a kid and I didn't have a full understanding on how serious it was. I also remember the day when we found out.

Your father is very strong and I only hope for the best for your family.

Latch wrote 17th of December 3 years ago my dad was diagnosed with cancer, he is now over it fully but still being checked regularly. It was a bad experience as I just broke down, I was only 19 nearly 20, I didn't know what to do. I tried my best to help my Mum with shopping, from taking holidays from work to do that, it was very hard! Worst experience of my life, my dad and I are very close! He comes to races and all with me, helps me a lot. I really hope there is a cure for cancer. I always donate to cancer charities and stuff, but what more can I really do. I took 2 week holiday from work, and I went playing golf with him on Saturday just gone. It was a great day! Took my head off things. He is back in work now as he is a carpenter, and he has a positive attitude towards cancer, I think I took it worse than him when him and my mum told me he was diagnosed, I have 4 brothers. All of us were in complete shock, One of my brothers lives in Australia and he came home for the Christmas as soon as he found out, it was a very good Christmas.

I'm not posting this for sympathy, I really want some genius to come up with a cure!

Hey man, your situation sounds so much like mine!

My dad is a carpenter too and had cancer. He got it because of all of the dust he was inhaling from his job. He's over it all now but unfortunately he'll never be able to eat again. He rushed himself back into work a few months ago becuase he couldnt handle being at home on his own all the time and ended up getting ill from it. It's had but you've just got to do your best to help your family out, I'm currently giving my Mum a couple hundred pounds a month to help with bills so that it isnt another thing she is worrying about.

I hope everythings okay for you and your family pal!

Im glad he managed to get the strength to go through it!

A couple of months ago my grandfather passed away from cancer, and I found out during a work shift.
I didnt know what to feel, I was in shock.
I couldnt even imagine experiencing what you went through

I hope that a cure will be found soon as well, doctors are already doing a great job of stopping it for a lot of people, like your dad. But I hope that some day it will be cured as easily as a cold or something.

My dad's best friend passed away last year to cancer. Never seen my dad so devastated as he was then, it was horrible, but unfortunately life moves on, and we can look forward for a possible cure some day.

My older brother had cancer, he was only 12 when he got it, and I was 7 so I didn't really understand what was happening. I now understand what he went through though. I hope everything goes well for you, your brothers and your dad.
