Something that gets on my nerves almost everyday is the amateur graphic designers claiming "professional" work for free for other members. Yes, its great. Free avatars and banners for TTG members but seriously stop claiming that its professional and that you're professional.

Everyone knows you have copied a tutorial straight from YouTube and even used the same colour scheme and font. I know this isn't a big problem or anything like that but it just gets on my nerves so much.

Also be original with the work you create for people, don't make the same avatar for every person. Don't use the same PSD and just change the colour and font, it's just lazy.

I'm happy I've ranted about this.

Last time I checked, professional meant getting paid to do a job, so if you see people claiming such things, it's because they have and will continue to get paid for their services. Not really something you need to truly be angry about.

It's an on-going argument within the arts on the term when you someone is a professional. From being an actual artist I find it really annoying for that fact.

I wouldnt really say any of the known Graphic Artists on this site call themselves "Professionals" most amateurs clain they are but have no work to back it up.
Second off thats is how people learn, they watch videos and take classes, yes i agree they shouldnt just plug it into a template, they should try it on their own. And for the whole same avatar design or theme, sometimes people like how they look and would like a similar one, yes it might just be tweaking the text but if thats what the person wants then so be it, its there call.

I agree it's their call for what people want. If that's what they like and want then I guess the supply and demand is there.

Yes! I agree because I am usually always around the Graphics section of the site and when some people say that they are super good and professional artists when have no quality work or work at all to show why they call themselves "professional". This site is most definitely home to very great artists though!

Yes, but claiming professionalism while getting paid 1-3$ for work is a bit of an overstatement. Yes, they are getting paid to do the work, but there is a big difference in the quality of work from someone who gets paid 3$ per piece, and someone who makes enough money doing professional graphics to make a living off of it.
