I'm getting a quad monitor setup. However I need to get a computer which can display to these. Does anyone have any tips they can give me so that I don't buy the wrong thing.

Will the computer have to have 2 graphics cards?

Not many that I know of under this price.

But you will need to post this in PC Building (Following the announcements guide) for us to get you the best for your money.

Seeing as the stock version of the 960 isn't out yet and not many benchmarks I'm going to shy away from the 960s all together.

It honestly depends on the resolution for each monitor. You want good FPS so GabeN will be happy, so you should go with a slightly better GPU to ensure that.

If all 4 will be 1080p 60Hz < You should go with a 970, stock or after market will do fine.
If 3 of them are 1080p 60 Hz but one if 1440p 60Hz < You might want to go with a 980 stock or after market to avoid and bottlenecking that the 970 might give you while gaming.
If even 1 of them is 4k you should already know to go with 980 After Market so you can get a better base clock speed, and better cooling.

Right now, I'm running 1 1080p 60Hz and 2 1440p 60Hz on a single 970 Strix that I overclocked.

You may also want to figure out your budget because the 980 ain't cheap.

But... In no part of his post did he say it was for gaming...

You cannot game across 4 monitors... The center point would be the bezel...

Also, the 960 has been benched and came out fighting, it's pretty much a 760/770 replacement.

u wot? So what if there aren't many reference 960's out there? There are 960's around with aftermarket coolers. Plus, graig is on point, gaming with 4 monitors is moronic, it would be the same as gaming across two monitors. I also can't understand why anyone would use a 4K panel and 3x 1080p panels..! There are loads of benchmarks around for 960 already, 960 performs on par with 770, if not slightly better. As for resolution, yes it makes a difference, but 4x1080p monitors are still going to be quite demanding anyway.

At which point in my post did I mention that I was going to be using these monitors for gaming?

I do not need a perfect frames setup on all monitors.

I simply need to be able to connect to all 4 1080p monitors at once with an acceptable quality.

This computer is mainly for work which I need the four screens for.

You could get way more than 4 if you daisy chain 3 1080p monitors out of each display port.

This made no sense but it was a good laugh. So, OP would need 2 GPUs if his current GPU has more than 2 outputs? Off to a good start. However, if OP has 2 GPUs then he doesn't need 2? Good effort.
