So I just brought call of duty 4 on Steam, and the single player works fine but when I load up multilayer I get "iw3mp.exe has stopped working". I have looks up problems that it may could have been but not have found anything if anyone can help I would be grateful

I bought CoD4 on steam about 2 years ago and I play it near enough everyday and every time I start it up I have my headphones connected, if I ever start the game without them then it would stop responding on the start up, you can always just plug some headphones in on the start up then unplug them when your in the game menu.
