I personally would; you can change the layout to look like Windows 7 if you find it hard to navigate. When I upgraded the boot up time got way better and the performance was enhanced.

i always said i would use windows 7 but about a month or so ago i got windows 8.1 and fell in love. I personally like it better than 7 now. I think all the hate was on windows 8 not 8.1 but its up to you. Either way you look at it you get an upgrade to windows 10 for free

Windows 8 was difficult to get used to at first, but after some time I've grown to love it. The choice is really on you, though.

Windows 8.1 is not only for touchscreen systems, its for normal people too. Also its likely Windows 10 will be given as a free update to 8.1 users and not 7 users.

I have had Windows Vista (Was on a school computer), XP, 7,8/8.1. I was using windows 8.1 about 2-3 weeks ago but i was having issues when playing games that it would randomly minimize the game, so i switched to windows 7 and like it but with windows 8.1 i experienced faster boot times and it seemed like my music/documents/etc... folders would load quicker as well with 'some' applications. But there both great operating systems and i don't think that one is better than the other. IMO i think that people take operating systems for granite and don't appreciate what the developers have to do to make a operating system along with how long it takes to make it.
