How to make a good player biography thread

Choose an athlete with a rich history

This is a really big one, choosing a Rookie athlete isn't the best choice as they might have gotten to the pro's without anything worth noting. Legends are probably the best to choose when writing a biography, because of all that they have done. If you can provide a good back-story in these threads, then it's probably a good choice. A rich history will make it easier for you to write more, so it's a good thing to keep in mind.

i.e.

Randy Moss

How to post a good topic

When writing player biography's, it's important to include important moments in a certain athletes career both on and off the field. This could be anything from breaking records on the field to altercations with the law, and how it affected/changed the athlete. Providing specific details is also very important as it is a biography in order for readers to learn something.

Going on to websites is good to gather information on a set athlete, but please DO NOT copy and paste a player biography. This will only get your topic deleted as it takes no effort to highlight a section and then paste it in a new one.

Improving your post

Using specific details is the best way to write a good post. Using pictures can make your words seem a lot more impactful drawing readers towards what's happening in them. Use this as knowledge to improve your post. Remember that every single detail doesn't need a picture, but piece it together well, as you are creating the topic.

Videos in my opinion are the best way to draw attention to anything. So it's important to make ties to your writing using videos.

i.e.
Randy Moss' life begins to take a turn for the worst after he is involved in a racial fight at school. Notre Dame is everything, but reality now.

Details

It's important to provide a back-story of the selected athletes life growing up. Showing struggles and times of perseverance. Rushing a post like this will make it only a waste of time on your part as it will do no-one any good unless it is well written. Don't drag details out, just make them short and sweet getting the point across. Showing emphasis on certain events and there affect can also improve your writing for the better.

Writing the biography

The best way to make a good post is to break up the selected athletes life up into 3 parts. The first section should be how it was growing up for this athlete pointing out important events. Next, the part of the athletes College/Professional career should be included after showing contributions made to the sport. And lastly, the final and third section should be about the athletes legacy they made for themselves and how they're living currently.

It is your responsibility to pick and choose good places to include pictures/videos to get the most impact out of your words. Doing correctly will take your post to the next level. Using a timeline isn't required, but recommended to keep events in the correct order.
