Hi, since I was first ranked, i've been in silver 1, and can't get out. I'm often in a team with people alot worse than the other team. I'm very often at the top of my teams leaderboard (proof if you don't believe me). I'm fairly new to the game with only 22 comp wins but I would have expected to move up in the 12 games since my inital rank. I have a very basic understanding of the ranking system but it's not great. If anyone can help me know what i'm doing wrong (don't hesitate to tell me I suck, if that's the problem)

It just takes a bunch of practice. You can not to be Global Elite in 22 wins... Some tips. Dont always be toxic(Meaning dont tell your team they suck.). Another, dont wake up in the morning and play comp right away. Do some practice first. 3rd tip get your friends to make a group together. Less chance of getting trolls on your team. Hope this helped a bit.

Thanks for the tips . I wouldnt call people bad, I know not everyone can be good on their first few days of the game.

Try get some friend to play with you. However, you'll mostly get ranked with smurfers or hackers, so keep practicing like OP said.

Man, ignore your rank and focus on improving first;
Secondly when your in game focus more on what your doing wrong, how they killed you and what you can do to get the advantage.

Rank doesn't mean anything when you are a lower rank.
You need to focus on improving your skills first, then you will start to rank up first, because rank is not dependent on your wins alone, if also varies on how you preform in game, kills, deaths, plants/defuses, etc.
How to Improve:
Learn Call-Outs, above minimap, it tells you where are you on the map, many of these spots have call-outs similar to the name above the map, or are a similar name.
Get a Mic, if you do not already have a mic, then you should get one. I just got a new mic, and it's fantastic. I've already been improving my game with the mic.
Find people to play with, If you have friends that play, start playing together. You will all probably communicate better, and communicating is the key to winning games.
Learn the guns, learn which guns are good, and how to use them 'properly'. Certain guns are better at far range, some are better are closer range. For example, the AUG has a scope, making it very good at longer ranges. The AK47 do not have a scope, but it is a very deadly gun. The P90 is a Sub-Machine Gun, making it deadly are Short-Medium ranges, it is also one of my favorite guns. Now onto short range. The only guns that are really good at short range are shotguns. Most of the shotguns do the job fairly well, and are easy to use. Now, there is one gun that has an 'exception' to these range 'rules'. This is the AWP. It is one of the four sniper rifles in the game, and it has the highest damage of the four. It rarely hits the target, without killing them. You can use this gun at far range with it's scope, or you can use it at short range, if you're good at quickscoping with it.
