I have heard that I need to do things with drivers otherwise windows will not work. Is there anyway to keep windows and all my data when upgrading

Windows will be fine, just the code that you put in to activate it and whatnot gets linked to the motherboard.
Nothing a Windows crack can fix though...
But you won't lose anything when swapping a mobo.

Personally, I think it would be best if you done a clean install of Windows. This will stop any driver issues and whatnot which could occur.

You can backup your data using the Windows backup feature.

If you really wanted to keep your current installation you'd want to remove all the chipset, network drivers ect..

I've used this guide before and it worked I still did a free install after just felt like testing.

Thanks for the help guys I've purchased the motherboard and will install it when it arrives
