Hi i am returning to modding! Recently purchased a 3.55 and i was given the option to install the Habib onto my console. Also the option to install the fan mod for longer durance of the console! But i am not sure of how things work due to me not modding for years! It has been 3 IN A HALF Years i haven't touched a console. I just need someone to give me all the methods and features and what i can do on the habib cfw if it is a cfw or just a spoofer not sure but thanks. Please do not refer me to links that has nothing to do with my need of help

Congrats on getting back into consoles lol, and welcome back to the scene

Anyway, for starters, yes, Habib's is a custom firmware, not a spoof

To get started on your way to modding, when you first get the ps3 in, check the system software version through the system settings menu, if it is under 4.53, I recommend that you use this link (mediafire . com/download/wk0t1zy5yj5kaq7/HABIB_465_V1.02_PUB.PUP)(remove the spaces) this is a link that is for (to my knowledge) the latest habib cfw

if you install this and want to get online, then I also have a 4.65 to 4.66 spoofer to get you onto the most recent update to log into psn, that link is here (psx-place . com/ps3-news/579/updated-v111-final-arch-releases-466-spoofer-enablerdisabler.html) (once again, remove spaces)

once you've installed the custom firmware, if it hasn't previously been installed then you'll want to install a file manager and a backup manager, personally I use MultiMAN so i kinda have to recommend it here, I've used it since it first showed up on the scene

Newest Version (pick which link works best in your browser from this site):
mirrorcreator . com/files/17W2DOTY/multiMAN_Ver_04.65.00.rar_links

As an extra bonus, here are a bunch of covers for use in multiman (totaling about 8.7GB of covers haha):
filecloud . io/_p756xm3l

After that, all you need to do is insert your game, open multiman, hit triangle and select copy, and then the hdd0 option
to install patches, take the patch (and eboot if included and copy them to the ps3, I will tell you both options (this is a long-ish guide so I'll color code the methods)

PC to PS3:
this will be using an FTP setup
No need for Blackb0x anymore, MultiMAN itself runs as an ftp server and your pc as the client
anyways, install filezilla (filezilla - project . org)
when installed, open MultiMAN and go to the left to settings then click system information and look at your IP address
once you have the IP address from the system information option, open filezilla on your pc, put your ps3's IP in the box labeled host and click connect
when connected, you're going to want to go to the remote site tab and follow this folder order
For patches:
/dev_hdd0/game/<your game ID, different for each game>/USRDIR

For ISO mods/eboot mods:
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/<your Game ID>/PS3_GAME/USRDIR

USB method:
copy all the patches you want to use on the ps3 to a usb flash drive, or an external HDD using the FAT32 format for the drive

when you have everything loaded on the usb, insert it into your ps3 and open MultiMAN again, and go all the way to the left this time, past system settings and select File Manager/mmOS

on the desktop, you will use the right stick to control the cursor

double tap x with the cursor on ps3 root at the top left, then in the window that opens up, double click dev_usb000 and double click on the folders leading up to the mod, once you're in the folder with your mods, single click (not double) on each file of the patch and then hit circle and select copy, then, to into th game's folder and hit circle and select paste and say yes to any messages that pop up

For patches:
/dev_hdd0/game/<your game ID, different for each game>/USRDIR

For ISO mods/eboot mods:
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/<your Game ID>/PS3_GAME/USRDIR

After that you are ready to go online/offline and mod hope this helped

sorry if i'm making it seem like you're a noob, just copied this from something I had typed up previously, and just updated the links
