Using a USB on xbox requires

*Over 1G on your usb
*It to be formatted for xbox.
and make sure the usb slots on your xbox aren't broken.

Left pretty much covered it. Make sure its formatted. It will delete everything on the usb so make sure it doesnt have anything important on it. Also you can set it to format only some part of the space.

Make sure it has over 1GB of data on it, make sure its formatted, and check to make sure the USB is in the Xbox, on my old Xbox i had a faulty USB outlet so try the other outlet maybe as it may be dead.

You can't give reputation points, when you don't have any at all...

Anyways, you will need to format your USB device. To do so, simply go to system settings, and format it from there.
Also, your USB drive will need 1GB, but 2 plus GB is better if you are planning on doing a lot of gamesaving and what not.
