I would recommend you getting the AMD FX 8350 Black Edition

Yes, it's a great CPU. However nowadays most Intel processors overshadow it since they generally have a better single core speed with a hugely better upgrade path.

If you were on the most strict budget of 100 GBP I'd get the AMD 8320, but if you could adjust a little I'd most likely recommend the Intel i5 4440 or 4460.

The 8350 is just a factory overclocked 8320, I'd usually recommend saving 20+ GBP and overclock it yourself.

Not really. AM3+ is dead, the 8320 has no logical upgrades. Stick with Intel for now, at least until AMD can release a decent CPU that's not out-dated.

In relation to your question I run a build incorporating the 8320 ( built when AMD Bulldozer processors were accepted as a functioning CPU and not a mobile greenhouse) and yes it's good. As Sanctyy said there's no upgrade path so you can't really get a better AM3+ CPU, plus there's better for the money if you're willing to spend a wee bit more.

I have an overclocked Gigabyte Windforce OC 270X and an FX-8320 on a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 motherboard and I can generally max out most games on the market. I hope that helps. But don't let this be the decider as there's still better processors (most of the i5 series and all the gaming i7's)

Where are you going with this?

Are you going to be making a build?

If so, do you have a budget that we can work with?
