So after watching a video on anti-war war games ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) I was wondering what games you guys find realistic and why? What makes it realistic? Is it realistic because of the graphics and physics like in Battlefield, pace of war like ARMA or just the horror and cost of it like Spec Ops: The Line. If you don't know what I am talking about please click on that link. I just would like to hear what some of you think about what makes a game realistic to you.

Example of another War game:
Call of Duty World at War-World at War is and most probably going to be the Most Goriest and realistic as you can get in a CoD game. all though it's a game WaW was probably a fan favourite no because of gore but how it showed two sides of WW2 that being The Americans and the Russians.

Another War game that hasn't really been mention that much anymore is
Flashpoint Red Dragon: Flashpoint is a very realistic game when it comes too shooters, an example of this is, if you get shot In the chest by one round you will bleeding and die.

Sorry if I was not making sense but that's my opinion.

Yes I get you. W@W shows the conflict as it happened from different parts and in different perspectives. What I am sort of getting out of it was that just because a game like battlefield has nice graphics and physics does not necessarily mean it is realistic. ARMA captures that war can be slow, distant and sometimes even boring as your just calling in artillery miles away and shooting at someone that you can barely see. One other thing that the major AAA titles like CoD or battlefield fail to get is the toll on civilians or even disease or weather. On the eastern front you were very likely to die of hypothermia. In most wars before antibiotics most far more soldiers died of disease or infection than from actual combat. And the biggest is definitely the civilian cost. Few games capture this. Imagine that scene in MW2 when you are going through a suburban neighborhood but the houses are not empty. In a similar scenario to that the people would likely be in their houses or in the crossfire. I can only think of a few games that capture this part of realism.
