I had this problem a while ago, and I never really fixed it. I uninstalled Chrome and re-installed it but still won't open when I click on the icon. But since I set it as my default browser, I can get it to open just fine if I click some things on League of Legends that open your browser. Im not sure what the problem is, but in the task manager -> processes, it gets to 20k and then stops / removes from task manager. Anyone know the solution to this?

Could you post the content of the Chrome error log?

The error log can be found at C:\Users\myuserid\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application

Thanks!

Try running it as administrator.

And as Third said find the error log.

Another thing you could try would be to see if the application runs in safe mode (Holding CTRL when opening the browser should prompt for safe mode)this disables all extensions and addons allowing you to see if that causes the issue.

I got it to open in incognito mode, and it opens to Trovi, does that have something to do with it?

Sounds like you have a browser hijacker on your PC. Do you have any anti-virus software installed?

If yes, run a full scan and see if it picks anything up.

If no, I suggest you install MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). Free anti-virus by Microsoft.
