It seems like small updates are taking longer to download than last gen. It's really annoying and it takes forever to download a disc when I first buy the game. It can't be my Internet because I've had it checked multiple times and it's running normally.

can you not keep the xbox on the low power mode so it downloads any updates whilst your not on?

If it's possible try using an Ethernet cable when downloading stuff on your Xbox One. That should increase the download speeds.
