this mobo GIGABYTE GA-B85M-HD3 , will it be compitable with this gpu?
SAPPHIRE TRI-X R9 290 4GB OC (11227-00-40G) and does the mobo has a vga? since my monitor only supports vga.

Yes,

You should be listing your Power supply and asking if thats compatible.
What is the make and model and wattage of your psu?

Also the Cable goes into the GPU not the motherboad.

This specific GPU has DVI And HDMI output instead.
Therefore you could get a DVI to VGA adapter. or if your monitor supports either DVI or HDMI then use a HDMI Cable or a DVI Cable.
