You can make a new account tell him the details, You or him buy the game on that account then the other licence transfers on the account.

Phone wrote So me and my brother both want Advanced warfare but dont want to have to buy 2 copies, we both have our own xbox 360.

I heard that if he signs into my xbox with his account and buys the game i will have it then he can go back on his and he can redownload it.
Will this work??

Yes this will work fine i used to do it with my brother

No need to license transfer

Sign in with your account on his xbox (Or other way round)
buy it with your account on his console
Then sign back in on your own console and download it

Then you will only be able to play it with the account you downloaded it with on your xbox
Then he can play it with any account on his console

The way this works is, when you purchase something through xbox live you get 2 licenses for the content (A console license and an account license) By downloading it on another xbox means that xbox will have the console license allowing any profile on that xbox to play the content. Then you can still play it with the account on another xbox as you still have the profile license.

Sorry if that was a little complicated lol but yes do it like you said and you can both have it without license transferring
