If you go on google and type in the number 5676977, it will take you to the governments website for patents. This patent number is for the cure for AIDS, yet there is no cure? Is the government keeping the cure from people...

This isn't a cure, it's a patent.
Just because it's a patent, doesn't mean it works.

This patent isn't owned by the government, it's owned by Marvin S. Antelman.
This method to "cure AIDS" has never and will never work.

Here is a patent for a flying saucer -

I've seen that patent too. Honestly there probably is a cure look at magic Johnson. But the government will never release a cure for aids or cancer. Because they have no reason to. Theres millions of dollars made from treating both of those diseases. And they make more money treating it then they would curing it. There is also a patent for ebola and that one is owned by the government. And yes a patent most likely means it works no one patents something that doesn't work. That would make no sense

People patent things that don't work all the time.
To qualify for a patent, it just has to be a new idea, it doesn't have to work.

Are you saying that the flying saucer I linked works?

The US Government doesn't even own these patents.
Both the "cure for aids" and the flying saucer are owned by private inventors.

Other inventions from the "cure for aids" guy -

I'm not talking about either of those patents so that's irrelevant. I never said the government owns a the aids patent I said they own the patent for the ebola cure which they do

Can you prove that this is owned by the US Government? [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I'm not an expert in patents like you so I can't find anything on it.

Also, I enjoy watching you cherry pick whatever information you want to reply to.
Lavish just proved that something doesn't have to work for it to be patented, and even if he didn't, a quick Google search can show you that they don't have to work.

The Government may be complete idiots, but I don't think they would keep a cure for AIDS away from there citizens. There's also a cure to extend the lifetime but no fully function complete cure.

With certain patents you do have to come up with a valid idea, and a prototype. I'm not saying it's the same with the cure, but I do know you have to with certain patents, because a lot do them have blueprints on how they would be created.
