Okay so its only going to be short but anyways.
A few years ago I joined multiple forums like skidforums.net ( aka: hackforums.net ) and some other sites like leak.sx etc.. Now a lot of them have a feature that lets you +3 or whatever the site admin sets it too. Usually upgraded members have this where they can neg rep and it really pisses me off for the fact that I can post something on their that someone else doesnt agree with and it just really annoys me because when they don't agree to it they go and neg me for it but I should be able to have my own ****ing opinion goddamn it really really annoys me. And I think if you took a graph of the yearly +rep compared to -rep you'll see that 99% is neg reps and the other 1% is +reps

I'm just glad TTG doesn't have that feature, ty for being custom coded and staff with half a brain for not allowing it

You can just open the template files and just delete the codes that are for -rep.

TTG used to have this along time ago.
But they got rid of it for that reason.

The negative reputation feature is well suited in a mature forum setting, one that does not attract immature or younger members, such as gaming and tech related forum tend to. Now there's nothing wrong with younger members, in fact, they tend to be much more active. The issue occurs when someone who is not used to having "power" receives it. They often tend to abuse said "power" in certain, sometimes unreasonable situations.
To my knowledge TTG used to have the negative reputation feature and it was removed due to abuse. In a community such as this it is very easy to see how something like that would be abused. In general I am a supporter of the feature, but it has to be in the proper setting.
TL;DR Neg rep is abused by people who are unused to "authority." All hail based Sean, hippie, and telli for removing it.
