Was out with a mate, and I dropped my iPhone 4s (due to me having a battery issue before I had the back unscrewed) and basically the battery fell out (was still connected) and when I picked it up the battery was completely drained.

So I went home put my phone on charge and it began to boot loop, but when I took it off charge it just turned off.

Tried connecting it to iTunes and it doesn't pick up.. Basically I'm confused on what to do, do I need to buy a new battery or is it a hardware problem?

+Rep anyone who suggests anything.

Thankyou
- Michael.

Its a hardware problem but you can put the iPhone into DFU Mode then take it out and it might work.

Will I loose my jailbreak? I'm on 7.1.2 and I think it may force me to update.

What probably happened is the flex cable connecting the battery cell to the phone probably tore just a little.

The issue of it boot looping and turning completely off when you unplug it means the battery is bad.
Replacing the battery should fix it, assuming there are no other hardware problems, and it will keep your software and information intact.

Haha that is probably all it is.

Not sure of the reason of it not connecting to the computer but that is normal when you don't have a battery connected or properly connected. In the past with older versions of iOS it would boot up to an activation screen without a battery plugged in but with the newer software all it will do is loop and not completely turn on.
